Biscuit (cookie) flavour: Orange, cardamom, and vanilla
Decoration: Royal icing base. Some designs were painted by hand with gel food colourings and vodka, others featured hand-piped royal icing details.
Context: Inspired by Alexandra Byrne’s costume design for the 2020 film adaptation of Emma, directed by Autumn de Wilde. Some of the costumes represented above are reproductions of surviving Regency garments: a c.1810 evening dress in the V&A Collections, and a c.1815 Spencer jacket cared for by Chertsey Museum.
